Ex-Prince Andrew cried ‘I’m the Queen’s son’ as he was booted from Royal Lodge: report
Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, formerly known as Prince Andrew, reportedly made a desperate plea as he was evicted from his 30-room mansion in Windsor and relocated to the Sandringham Estate earlier this month.
“He refused to leave or take any responsibility,” an insider told the Sun on Sunday.
“When he was told to get out he was so arrogant and deluded he repeatedly shouted, ‘But I’m the Queen’s second son, you can’t do this to me.’”
The source continued, “It is extraordinary he chose to use the Queen’s name in his defense. No one is quite sure if the reality of his dire situation has hit home even yet.”
The incident reportedly intensified when Queen Elizabeth II’s son, 66, declared he “did not want to leave.”
A rep for Andrew did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
The residential move came as the result of Andrew’s ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, who died in prison in 2019 at the age of 66.
Weeks after his exile, Andrew was arrested on suspicion of misconduct in public office while working as a British trade envoy.
He was accused of allegedly sharing confidential trade documents with Epstein.
If convicted, the former Duke of York could face life in prison. Andrew previously denied any wrongdoing, though his relationship with Epstein has been long known.
Following the arrest, Andrew’s brother King Charles shared his “deepest concern” regarding the allegations.
“What now follows is the full, fair and proper process by which this issue is investigated in the appropriate manner and by the appropriate authorities,” the 77-year-old monarch wrote in a statement.
“In this, as I have said before, they have our full and wholehearted support and co-operation. Let me state clearly: the law must take its course.”
Andrew, who was stripped of his royal titles last year, was pictured looking terrified as he left jail Thursday evening.
He appeared startled as he tried hiding in the backseat of a car leaving Aylsham Police Station in the United Kingdom.
