Rebecca Romijn and daughters got ‘physical’ with Jerry O’Connell over Kamala Harris comments
Jerry O’Connell claims his wife and their twin daughters “became physical” with him after he made a series of comments about Kamala Harris losing the 2024 presidential election to Donald Trump.
The “Stand By Me” star recalled the “shocking” incident during Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast, on the episode that dropped Monday.
“I said something along the lines of, ‘There was no planning. This is what they get. There should have been a primary,’” O’Connell, 52, began. “I was just spit-balling ideas.”
He continued, “It was a shock. My wife and daughters, without saying anything, became physical with me. They were filled with rage.”
O’Connell married actress Rebecca Romijn, 53, in 2007. The couple welcomed their twin daughters, Dolly and Charlie, now 18, in December 2008.
The “Jerry Maguire” actor, who acknowledged that he didn’t think Harris would lose, went on to explain why he has to be “careful” about how he “says things.”
“I live in California,” O’Connell continued. “I live with not one, not two, but three people who, if I made any kind of joke, they’d become very angry with me.”
But Maher, 70, said that he could never live like that.
“Whatever household situation I’m in, I say what I truly think, and if it makes you angry, I’m sorry,” the comedian responded. “We’ll have to work that out.”
He added, “But I am not going to tuck my tail between my legs and just shut the f–k up.”
The pair’s discussion about the 2024 presidential election came about after Maher criticized Hollywood’s decision not to acknowledge “Landman” because it was considered a “conservative show.”
“First of all, even if it was a conservative show, that should be allowed,” Maher said of the Paramount+ series starring Billy Bob Thornton. “This is f–king America, you a–holes.”
He continued, “I mean, it’s just not exactly what you are. And so we have to ignore that and pretend it doesn’t exist. You want to know why people vote for Trump? That’s why. Your s–tty attitude is a real turnoff.”
