Britney Spears breaks silence after DUI arrest
Britney Spears returned to Instagram for the first time since her DUI arrest by sharing videos with her son Jayden.
In the clips shared on Friday, the pop star could be seen goofing around with the 19-year-old as they took a series of mirror selfies. At one point Spears told the camera, “I am composure. I am being very composed!”
The artist then jumped up and down before bopping Jayden on the head, to which he replied, “Ow!”
“Thank you guys for all your support… spending time with family and friends is such a blessing!” Spears captioned the first video alongside a series of rose emojis.
A second video saw the pair continue to take photos and fool around.
“I wish I could be like Michael,” Jayden, wearing a white hat, added in the second clip, seemingly referencing Michael Jackson.
Spears simply wrote beneath the post: “Stay kind.”
The hitmaker’s videos come on the heels of her March 4 arrest. Spears was taken into custody on suspicion of DUI in Ventura, Calif., and released the following morning, per arrest records from the Ventura County Sheriff’s Office.
Spears’ case is currently under review by county prosecutors.
A spokesman for the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office told the California Post: “The DUI case against Britney Spears has been submitted to the Ventura County District Attorney’s Office and is under review by our prosecutors.”
The statement continued, “Part of that review might include seeking additional information and evidence. A filing decision will be made before the scheduled May 4, 2026, court date.”
Following her brush with the law, a source close to the singer told Page Six that both Jayden and Sean, 20, whom she shares with ex-husband Kevin Federline, were offering their support.
Jayden’s Mercedes — which Spears reportedly bought for him last year — was spotted at her house the day after she was released from jail.
“Her sons are with her right now. They love her and want to support her and just want her to feel better,” the insider expressed.
A source also told Page Six that Spears is “devastated” over her arrest and that the encounter “has scared the crap out of her.”
“Britney knows she has to face the consequences whatever they may be,” the insider detailed, noting that her inner circle is “just praying it is rehab and not jail.”
On March 23, Spears was spotted out for the first time since the ordeal, in Malibu, Calif.
As seen in a picture posted by social media fan page BritneysVault, the Grammy winner waited in line to order from Starbucks in the Malibu Country Mart.
Spears kept a low profile in a brown coat and black sunglasses. She held a cellphone in her left hand and carried a large orange bag.
Meanwhile, prior to the “Toxic” singer’s arrest, she was seen driving erratically following a night out with a friend.
Spears’ manager, Cade Hudson, called her arrest “inexcusable” in a statement to Page Six.
“This was an unfortunate incident that is completely inexcusable. Britney is going to take the right steps and comply with the law and hopefully this can be the first step in long overdue change that needs to occur in Britney’s life,” the statement read. “Hopefully, she can get the help and support she needs during this difficult time.”
Hudson added: “Her boys are going to be spending time with her. Her loved ones are going to come up with an overdue needed plan to set her up for success for well being.”
