Kesha regrets ‘horrible filler phase’ and talks impossible beauty standards

Kesha is rethinking some of her prior beauty choices.

Sitting down for an interview on “Call Her Daddy,” released Wednesday, the singer discussed her relationship with beaty, and how that has changed over the course of her career.

“Be hot but don’t be slutty. Be hot but don’t be fake,” host Alex Cooper said, decrying the expectations and the impossible beauty standards women are held to right now.

“It’s been such a journey, right?” said Kesha, 39. She added, “People have commented on my body, I internalize those comments, I make that the word of God, I try to adjust my body to somebody’s else’s … like what they want me to be.”

“I went through a horrible filler phase,” Kesha shared. “That sucked,” she added, “because I was like ‘oh, that’s what I should do …’”

“I tried to shape shift to make everybody happy,” she said, later adding, “It’s just this constant dance with society.”

She joins the likes of celebrities like Brooks Nader, who recently dissolved her lip filler, and Kate Winslet, who has publicly shared her disdain over everyone’s obsession with “chasing an idea of perfection to get more likes on Instagram.”

Kesha joked, “we’re not supposed to age … but I don’t know what else to do,” joking, “trust me, I don’t want to!”

In other body-related news, the singer also shared that she carries around a necklace with a pendant made from her own placenta. “[My mother] fought for that, so now I carry it around,” she said.

“So your placenta supposedly gives you second sight, helps open your third eye,” adding the caveat, “This is according to my mother.”
