Andy Dick spotted signing autographs four months after overdose
Andy Dick happily signed autographs for fans in Los Angeles several months after a near-fatal overdose.
The comedian was pictured at a booth at the Hollywood Show convention on Friday, chatting with attendees and scribbling his signature for them.
The “Newsradio” alum, 60, wore a pinstriped jacket over a black T shirt for the outing.
A rep for the “Andy Dick Show” star did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment over the weekend.
The appearance comes over five months after Dick was found unconscious during an apparent overdose in Los Angeles.
A pair of friends, Adam Carbone and Alexander Bailey, were filming with Dick in Hollywood on Dec. 9 when the comedian broke off and smoked crack cocaine with a random man on the street.
Footage obtained by TMZ at the time showed the “Road Trip” star slumped over on concrete steps, as bystanders attempted to revive him and to call for help.
The “Employee of the Month” star — who has a significant history of drug and alcohol issues — was revived after receiving four shots of Narcan, a drug that reverses the effects of opioid overdoses.
Following the terrifying incident, Dick told Page Six in January that he “legit died.”
“This is not funny, and I don’t remember this, but they say I came back to life, sat up, and the first thing outta my mouth was, ‘Where’s the vodka?’”
He went on, “I don’t remember. I was still out of it … just coming back from death and Narcan’d up. I was out of my mind.”
Dick ultimately checked himself into a rehab facility in Palm Springs, and less than two months later, checked himself out.
“[I’ve been to rehab] many, many, many, many, many times,” he told us in a phone interview after exiting rehab.
“This one feels different, I think, mostly because I actually legit died, and I can’t believe I came back to life,”
In March, he revisited the near-death incident during a podcast interview, joking, “There were no bright lights. I wish [there were], I’d go back.”
“They did a CAT scan thing, or whatever they call it in your brain, and I have all these – there’s about five to seven holes,” he told Howie Mandel during an episode of “Howie Mandel Does Stuff.”
According to the Cleveland Clinic, these brain lesions can occur as a result of a number of conditions, including stress and traumatic brain injuries.
However, Dick’s rep told us that the apparent “holes” are from a previous incident.
“The issue with his brain is from the 2019 attack that almost killed Andy when an unprovoked attacker cold-cocked Andy while he was outside of the club he and Paris Dylan had just performed,” the rep explained in a statement, noting that they “are assured that his brain will heal.”
He also said that while the troubled comedian “has been battling his addictions for years,” he is “healthy, sober and doing great.”
