Ruby Rose rushed to hospital with multiple broken ribs after freak pool accident
Ruby Rose was rushed to the hospital after breaking her ribs during a pool accident.
“RIP to my ribs, and to the rest of my summer,” the actress, 40, captioned a clip of the horrifying incident shared via Instagram Stories on Monday. “They are broken, multiple.”
In the scary footage, the “Orange is the New Black” star can be seen holding a hose as she misses the edge of her pool, slams into a wall and lands in the water.
“Straight to the hospital, did not pass go or collect 200 dollars,” Rose — who set the clip to the 1990 song by The La’s “There She Goes” — continued.
The Australian model, who added a laughing emoji, teased, “That’s your girl!”
Rose also posted the video to Threads, further explaining above the clip, “Please come and take me out. I brought this upon myself.
“And now I have to breathe into a machine lol. Landed perfectly on the right side of my ribs. Breaking the bottom two.”
In a follow-up post, Rose mused that “one second” she’s on social media, while the next she’s in the hospital.
“What a bloody Monday,” she quipped.
Rose compared her current situation to a similar injury she suffered while filming The CW series “Batwoman.”
In 2019, the star ended up with two herniated discs after performing stunts on the show. At the time, Rose’s spinal cord was almost severely impacted and she underwent emergency surgery.
“I’m sorry, but what in the f–king dissociation and self abandonment did I do, to return to work on batwoman, the day after breaking my rib and neck,” she posted on Threads. “My rib was killing me!! I couldn’t feel my legs or hands, I was in a batsuit!”
Reflecting on her injuries this time around, Rose insisted, “I’ve just broken two ribs, falling into my own pool backwards and you couldn’t pay me to put a bra on, let alone stand up.”
Now, the actress is focused on recovery, asking fans to “send good book and show recommendations” because “this is going to take many weeks.”
After one season, Rose exited “Batwoman” in 2020 — claiming that show executives created an unsafe work environment.
At the time, she accused the executives of forcing her to return to work after her emergency surgery.
Warner Bros. denied the claims, calling Rose’s accusations “defamatory and damaging” and “revisionist history.”
Most recently, Rose accused Katy Perry of sexual assault during an incident that occurred over two decades. As of April, the singer remains under investigation.
