Lindsay Lohan Reflects on ‘Becoming Iconic’ While Celebrating Milestone 40th Birthday
Lindsay Lohan is starting a new decade with a look back at her accomplishments.
“Forty. Grateful for every chapter that brought me here,” Lohan captioned an Instagram post on Thursday, July 2, celebrating her milestone 40th birthday. “For the lessons, the laughter, the love, the unexpected turns, and the people who’ve stood beside me through it all.”
Lohan told fans that her next decade will be “more grounded,” “more intentional” and “more joyful.”
“Here’s to family, friendship, new beginnings, and making the most beautiful memories yet,” she wrote. “Thank you for all the birthday love.”
The actress posted a carousel of photos reflecting on the last four decades of her life.
Sharing a series of photos from when she was 10 years old, Lohan noted that she was “discovering, performing” and “dreaming bigger” during these years.
“I was already working before I even understood what discipline meant. I’ve been in this business since I was 18 months old,” she wrote alongside the throwback pics. “Days on set, soap operas, scripts in my hands, playing parts while quietly finding pieces of myself.”
Lohan recalled a sense of “innocence” and “instinct” during that chapter of her life.
She referred to her 20s as a time where she was “becoming iconic” among other things.
“There was success, attention, expectation — and underneath it, a girl still figuring herself out,” she wrote. “I was learning through experience, through pressure, through mistakes, trying to hold onto who I was while the world decided who I should be.”
When looking back at her 30s, Lohan called it the “decade that changed everything,” referring to her marriage to Bader Shammas. The couple wed in 2022 and welcomed son Luai the following year.
“I’m no longer searching for who l am, I’m living it,” she wrote. “Choosing family, choosing purpose, and creating a life that feels as good as it.”
Lohan looked forward to the future as she concluded her post.
“There’s still so much I want to create,” she shared. “Exciting stories, ones that connect with people and also make them laugh, stories that feel honest and moments that stay with people long after the screen fades.”
Lohan said she’s “building with intention” when it comes to her life and career.
“Choosing what aligns, what lasts, what matters. Grounded in love, in my family, and the life we’re building together,” she wrote. “The best chapters aren’t behind me. They’re the ones I’m stepping into.”
