‘As the World Turns’ star Scott Bryce dead at 68
“As the World Turns” alum Scott Bryce has died at the age of 68.
“A wonderful actor, a beautiful man and a terrific husband and father, Scott Bryce, passed tonight,” the actor’s pal Lucie Arnaz wrote in a since-deleted Facebook post on Sunday, per journalist Michael Fairman.
“I am going to miss his eyes, his smile, his wit, his brain, his intelligence, his talent, his bravery, his laugh and his hugs,” the daughter of Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz continued.
Lucie, 74, also penned a special message to Bryce’s wife, Jodi Stevens, whom he wed in 2003, and their son Jackson, 19, adding, “He’s watching over you now from a place of pure joy and will always be your guide.”
“But I hate these goodbyes. Rest in peace you marvelous, magnificent man,” the “Jazz Singer” actress continued.
Ahead of his death, Bryce battled Stage 3 esophageal and stomach cancer, which he was diagnosed with in 2025.
After undergoing treatment, the actor shared that he was “on the mend.”
Additionally, Lucie revealed in her heartbreaking announcement that his cancer had returned, according to Fairman.
A rep for Bryce wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment. Arnaz did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.
Bryce was best known for his role as Craig Montgomery in the long-standing TV series “As the World Turns,” which he starred in from 1982 to 2008.
In the series, Bryce was involved in an on-screen love triangle with Meg Ryan’s character, Betsy, and Frank Runyeon’s character Steve.
Ultimately, Montgomery and Betsy part ways after tying the knot, and the latter ends up with Steve.
While working on the soap opera, Bryce received two Daytime Emmy nominations in 1986 and 1987 for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series.
Additionally, he also appeared in “Silk Hope,” “Murphy Brown,” “Beacon Hill,” “Chicago P.D.,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “Blue Bloods.” Bryce’s last acting credit was in a 2024 “Law & Order” episode.
The “Deception” alum and Stevens, meanwhile, celebrated 22 years of marriage last October, with the latter sharing a sweet tribute via Instagram.
“Today my heart is full — celebrating 22 years of love, laughter, and life with my best friend @beastdaddyo ❤️,” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and Bryce.
Stevens has yet to address her husband’s death.
