Perez Hilton livestreams apparent self-harming video, cops respond

Police have responded to Perez Hilton’s Miami home after the celebrity blogger shared what appeared to be a video in which he self-harms.

Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office confirmed to Page Six Tuesday night they’d received “multiple calls” of “an individual livestreaming acts of self-harm on social media” and dispatched deputies to investigate.

Officers spoke with Hilton’s family members who were on the scene and ultimately decided to “tactfully disengage” while continuing to “monitor the situation” after confirming Hilton, 48, was alone inside.

“In many incidents involving a person experiencing a mental health crisis or actively harming themselves, deputies prioritize de-escalation by creating time, distance, and opportunities for communication,” the Miami-Dade County Sheriff’s Office said in a statement obtained by Page Six.

“Unless there is an immediate threat to others, slowing the situation and utilizing crisis intervention techniques can reduce the likelihood of a suicide-by-cop encounter and minimize the risk of injury to the individual, deputies, and the public,” the statement continued.

The statement added that officers are also focused on “providing the needed support to [Hilton’s] family” during the internet personality’s apparent mental health crisis.

Hilton’s representatives, Golden Artists Entertainment Co-CEOs Dante Rusciolelli and Rebekah Kochan told TMZ in a statement they “are aware of the concerning content circulating online” involving their client.

“At this time, we have not been able to make direct contact with him, despite our ongoing efforts to reach him,” they added. “Our primary concern is Perez’s health and well-being, as well as the well-being of his family. Until we have confirmed information, we will not speculate or comment further.”

Rusciolelli and Kochan said they appreciate everyone’s concern and ask for the public to respect Hilton’s privacy at this time.

The blogger, born Mario Armando Lavandeira Jr., is father to three children welcomed via surrogacy.

In March, Hilton was hospitalized for three weeks after taking flu medication on an empty stomach.

“My stupidity landed me in the hospital for 21 days. It was the worst and best thing that’s ever happened to me,” he said in a YouTube video shared that month describing the “crazy saga.”

Hilton said he’d “had the flu for about a week” but failed to “take any of my medication with food.” He said he “developed an ulcer and then a perforation and then sepsis” as a result.

The gossip blogger recounted his entire hospital stay and noted that it instilled in him a desire to be more present for his family.

“I’m going to have dinner with my kids and my mom every night from now on,” he pledged.

In a health update in April, Hilton revealed he needed “emergency surgery” for a “massive” blood clot.

“I have a deep vein thrombosis” Hilton said at the time, sharing that he would undergo a “thrombectomy” procedure. “I am so thankful to God that we caught this early because if that blood clot had gone to my lungs or my heart, it could have been real bad.”

After coming out the other side of the life-threatening medical scare, Hilton said he’d found God.

“God presented himself to me and then did something. Something I can only call miraculous… it was real, and this has been life-changing,” he said.

“I’ve been crying, but happy tears. Happy tears. Because this is just, this is just so crazy. I’ve been reading the Bible, and so much of what is said here I had already been thinking of,” he said while holding up a Bible. “It’s just overwhelming in the best, most beautiful way.”
