Shelley Fabares’ cause of death at age 82 revealed
Shelly Fabares died of pneumonia, her family has confirmed.
The “Coach” alum’s family confirmed her cause of death to People Thursday. She was previously diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis and in 2000 received a liver transplant.
Fabares was 82 years old.
The actress died Saturday after a brief illness, her family previously confirmed.
“To her family and friends, Shelley was a source of love, strength, laughter and comfort,” they wrote in a statement to People, describing her as a “devoted wife” and “loyal friend whose warmth, generosity, humor and grace made an enduring difference in the lives of everyone who knew her.”
“She had a remarkable ability to make people feel welcomed, valued and cared for,” the statement continued. “For millions, Shelley was a beloved actress whose work became part of the fabric of American television and film.”
