Inside Dennis Quaid’s ‘soft’ life in Nashville

Dennis Quaid is enjoying a more leisurely pace of living in Nashville.

“The Parent Trap” star, 72, moved from Los Angeles to Tennessee in 2020 with his fourth wife, Laura Savoie, 33.

“Basically I play golf,” he told People on Sunday. “I love to be around the house here. You get a lot of land and space, but you’re still in an urban environment. I’ve made some really good friends here to spend time with. It’s important and a great place to raise a family.”

“It’s so nice here in Tennessee,” he added. “It’s soft and it’s a real feeling of community.”

While Nashville is considered the home of country music, Quaid claimed that there’s a lot more going on in the city.

“It’s not a one-horse town,” he said. “It’s not just music, although, like 75 percent of all music in the United States, no matter what genre it is either, not just country, is done right here in Nashville.”

Earlier this month, the “Great Balls of Fire” star reminisced about his old stomping grounds in Los Angeles.

“It used to be such a great town and the ’90s was nice,” he shared.

Quaid added that LA has “been kind of going downhill” lately and “feel[s] like people pay these taxes for no services.”

The “Yours, Mine & Ours” star insisted that he really “hope[s] the town comes back.”

“I really do. It used to be such a fantastic town. It was. It was a great community, too. And something’s happened. People need to be inspired there.”

Quaid was most recently in the news for trying to terminate his monthly $13,750 child support payments to ex-wife Kimberly Buffington for their 18-year-old twins, Thomas and Zoe.

In court documents, the actor cited his and Buffington’s 2018 divorce agreement, which stated the payments would end when their children finished 12th grade.
