‘Home Improvement’ star Jonathan Taylor Thomas allegedly kicked deputy in stomach before arrest

Jonathan Taylor Thomas allegedly kicked a cop in the stomach ahead of his arrest early Monday morning.

The Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department told TMZ on Wednesday that the “Home Improvement” star struck the deputy attempting to arrest him over his refusal to stay in a car.

The actor was a passenger in a vehicle pulled over in Westlake Village, California, for being stopped at an intersection blocking traffic.

The former child star was reportedly “uncooperative” with officials and acting “drunk in public.”

In addition to public intoxication, he was charged with obstructing or resisting an executive officer.

Thomas was detained at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station and released Tuesday.

Thomas has spent decades out of the spotlight after stepping away from his acting career in the early 2000s.

The reclusive 45-year-old, who has since only been spotted on rare occasions, last made headlines for reuniting with his former co-stars in an Instagram post.

“My other boys❤️,” Patricia Richardson, who played “Home Improvement” mom Jill Taylor, captioned a July snap with Thomas and Taran Noah Smith, who played her sons.

Their onscreen brother, Zachery Ty Bryan, was noticeably absent from the upload.

Bryan, 44, has had frequent run-ins with the law over the years for multiple DUIs and domestic violence arrests — and his last acting role was in Netflix’s “The Guardians of Justice” in 2022.

Smith, for his part, quit Hollywood in 2002 and has worked as a submarine instructor, as well as run the non-dairy cheese manufacturer and restaurant Playfood.

“I started ‘Home Improvement’ when I was seven, and the show ended when I was 16. I never had the chance to decide what I wanted to do with my life,” the 42-year-old explained to “Capital Journal” in 2021(per Hello! magazine). “When I was 16, I knew that I didn’t want to act anymore.”

Similarly, Thomas told People in 2013 that he retired to “go to school … travel and have a bit of a break” — and had “no regrets” about the decision.

He noted, “I never took the fame too seriously. It was a great period in my life, but it doesn’t define me.”
