Dakota Johnson Shows Glimpse of Black Lingerie in Sheer Lace Dress at ‘Verity’ London Premiere

Dakota Johnson is never one to shy away from the sheer dress trend.

Attending the London premiere of Verity on Thursday, September 24, the actress, 36, opted for a racy number as she rocked the red carpet.

For the star-studded event, Johnson donned a daring beige lace dress designed by Colleen Allen that offered a peek at her black lingerie by Fleur du Mal underneath.

Johnson’s see-through look also featured intricate lace detailing and a figure-skimming silhouette. She kept the rest of her look relatively understated, letting the sheer dress take center stage.

Speaking to Vogue Germany in October 2025, Johnson admitted she is not fazed about baring some skin. Asked by the outlet whether she ever feels as though wearing naked dresses is  “too sexy,” she responded, “I really don’t care.”

“I’ve been able to wear some of the most beautiful dresses, and I feel beautiful in them, so I wear them,” the actress said.

She further added, “If I find a beautiful dress that I feel comfortable in, of course I want to wear it! And it’s fun to wear a sexy dress.”

In the interview, Johnson explained that her famous mom, Melanie Griffith, “was very open about the topic of bodies.” Her mom’s attitude led her to feel confident while growing up, she noted.

“She taught us how to take care of our bodies and love them, and that our bodies are beautiful,” she said.

Johnson stepped out for the premiere as part of the press tour for her new film Verity, a psychological thriller based on Colleen Hoover’s bestselling novel. She stars alongside Anne Hathaway and Josh Hartnett.

The story follows budding writer Lowen (Johnson) who meets a wealthy man named Jeremy (Hartnett) while on the way to a publisher meeting, but her plans get derailed after she watches a biker get hit by a car. Unbeknownst to her, Jeremy is who she has the meeting with. Jeremy taps Lowen to be his incapacitated — or maybe not — wife Verity’s (Hathaway) ghostwriter.

Johnson’s red carpet turn comes after Us confirmed that she and Machine Gun Kelly recently went on a first date at mutual friend Taylor Swift’s apartment in New York City.

“They hit it off and wanted some privacy,” a source exclusively told Us earlier this month. “So, Dakota contacted Taylor, and Taylor said she wasn’t home, so they could use her place. Apparently, Taylor lets her close friends use her place when she’s away.”

Both Johnson and MGK have kept tight-lipped on the blossoming romance so far. The date comes after they both returned to the dating scene after splitting from Role Model and Megan Fox, respectively. Johnson previously dated Coldplay’s Chris Martin for almost eight years until they called it quits in June 2025.
