Darrell Sheets’ son Brandon marks late dad’s birthday
Brandon Sheets marked what would have been his father Darrell Sheets birthday, just weeks after the “Storage Wars” star’s sudden death at age 67.
“Happy Birthday @darrellgambler thank you for raising me to be the man I am today … wish that I could spend just one more day with you,” Brandon captioned a montage of photos with Darrell, adding ZZ Top’s “Just Got Paid” as a soundtrack.
He added, “I love you dad and Happy Birthday 5/13/1958 to 4/22/2026.”
Prior to his father’s special day, Brandon, 42, shared a video clip of family members singing him “Happy Birthday” as they waded in the pond via Instagram Stories.
“I know it’s early but I always called the night before…” Brandon wrote atop the clip. “Happy Birthday Big-D.”
Brandon was his father’s co-star on the long-running A&E series between 2010 and 2016. Darrell went on to appear on the series until 2023.
Darrell was found dead in his home in Lake Havasu City, Arizona, on April 22. According to a Lake Havasu City Police Department press release, he died from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his body was turned over to the Mohave County Medical Examiner’s Office for “further investigation.”
Darrell’s “Storage Wars” co-stars — including Rene Nezhoda — stepped forward in the hours following his death to address claims he was the targeted by cyberbullies prior to his death last month.
Lake Havasu City Police Department PIO Sergeant Kyle Ridgway told Page Six in April that investigators were “aware of these cyberbullying accusations” and said they are “a part of the active investigation” into the reality star’s death.
In a statement from authorities earlier this month, police said they were analyzing Sheets’ phone as they continue to investigate cyberbullying allegations.
Both Brandon and Darrell’s ex-wife, Kimber Wuerfel, took to social media earlier this month to mourn the “Storage Wars” star following his death.
“Darrell gave us so many moments of laughter, connection, and life,” Wuerfel wrote in part. “May the memories you hold of him stay close to your heart, as mine will stay with me forever.”
Alongside a carousel of snapshots with Darrell, Brandon also acknowledged his father’s death.
“My heart is so broken….I love you Dad and I will do my best to live in your honor and respect our Family,” he wrote earlier this month.
“Let’s all continue to build those memories and keep the legacy that is ‘Darrell (The Gambler) Sheets. I cant answer everyone’s questions or concerns right now, I think we all just need time to process and remember all the good that my Father was and will continue to be through my Son and I.”
He continued, “The love we all have for this man and all his kindness is only a small portion of who he truly is.”
