David Beckham Finds Out His Long-Lost ‘Twin Brother’ Is Matt Damon (Who Throws Shade at Ben Affleck) in Stella Artois’ 2025 Super Bowl Ad
David Beckham has lots of secrets to uncover in this year’s Stella Artois Super Bowl 2025commercial.
In the beer brand’s newest Super Bowl Ad spot — shared with PEOPLE by Stella Artois and set to air on TV on Feb. 9, during the Super Bowl LIX live from New Orleans — the soccer legend, 49, and his parents (played by actors) sit down in a pub to share a beer (and some crazy news).
“We have something to tell you,” Beckham’s fictional mom tells him in the commercial.
“You have a twin we never told you about — left him in America,” his dad reveals.
“I always knew there was something missing,” replies the soccer player, which his dad tells him was “other David.”
“You called him other David?” Beckham asks and his dad replies bluntly, “If there’s two Davids, one has to be other David.”
The athlete’s parents slide two baby photos of Beckham and his brother across the table, before revealing that they “left him in America.”
Stella Artois has been teasing who this other David might be for over a week, posing the question “Who is Other David?” to viewers — and Beckham embarks on a journey to a house in America to find the answer to his question.
As he arrives to a big yellow house in America, Beckham knocks on the front door and the “Other David” (played by Matt Damon), who shakes his hand and invites him to join him for some barbecue and a beer as they meet for the first time.
“Dave Beckham,” Damon introduces himself, to which the soccer star replies: “No way,” keeping his own identity a secret for the time being.
Outside at the barbecue, the long-lost brothers enjoy some buffalo wings.
“You eat buffalo?” Beckham asks, confused, to which Damon replies, “No, it’s just chicken. It was invented in Buffalo, the city.”
“So it’s not buffalo?” he questions again, seemingly in a joking jab at the Buffalo Bills’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in their conference championship ahead of the Super Bowl. “You all right, man?” the “Other David” questions.
Beckham then discovers sometime amazing that shows he and the “Other David” are most definitely brothers — someone at the barbecue tosses Damon a football and he kicks it high into the air with a thunderous sound effect.
“It’s just something I do,” Damon tells him.
Realizing that this man is most definitely his brother, Beckham looks down at the drink in his hand and sees that it’s a Stella Artois. “You drink Stella?” he asks with a nod of approval.
“I have taste, David,” Damon replies, before the men clink their bottles together and walk away with their arm around each other.
Beckham doesn’t hold onto his secret forever, though, telling “Other David”: “I have something to tell you.”
“My brother is a famous soccer player?” he replies. “So how famous are you? Like, Matt Damon famous?” to which the Manchester United alum replies: “Maybe Ben Affleck famous.”
“That’s a shame,” Damon replies, as he chows down on another buffalo wing.

Although Beckham doesn’t have an “Other David” in real life (though he does have an older sister, Lynne, and a younger sister, Joanne) he does have a long history of collaborating with Stella Artois.
Last year, Beckham, who is the Stella Artois Global Ambassador, starred in another commercial campaign with the European-style lager company where he is “humbled” when several women don’t recognize him in a bar.
In a press release, the brand opened up about Beckham’s 2025 campaign with them, sharing that they hope the hilarious commercial will highlight “the genuine way people connect over Stella Artois.”
The commercial will air on TV on Sunday, Feb. 9, as the Chiefs take on the Philadelphia Eagles at New Orleans’ Caesars Superdome for the Superbowl LIX.
