‘Embarrassed’ Bravo star Danny Booko apologizes to wife, cancels ‘WWHL’ appearance
Danny Booko skipped out on “Watch What Happens Live” after issuing a public apology to his wife, Nia Sanchez, for his recent behavior on “The Valley.”
“To the person I love most, my beautiful wife, I am so sorry,” Booko wrote via Instagram Stories on Wednesday. “Watching these last few episodes back hasn’t been easy.
“It was a difficult season of life and a version of myself that I’m embarrassed by and not proud of,” he continued. “A short fuse, stress, alcohol and lack of sleep are never a good combination, but that’s not an excuse. I should never have taken any of it out on [my partner].”
Booko told his followers that “balancing parenthood and life” while filming the Bravo reality show was stressful.
“I love, honor, and respect [my wife] deeply, and I did not show that in some of these moments,” he added.
“Nia, I love you so much. I’m grateful for you, our family, and this beautiful, chaotic life we’ve built together. I thank God for you every day,” Booko concluded.
His apology came hours before he was supposed to be a guest alongside Luke Broderick on “WWHL,” with his co-star joined by Tom Schwartz instead.
During Wednesday’s episode, host Andy Cohen confirmed that Booko withdrew from the interview — but denied it was related to backlash over “The Valley.”
“He booked a job and had to cancel to work,” the Bravo boss, 57, explained.
“I believe him because if he canceled because he was scared to come here, we would have heard from our publicist that he’s not up for it.”
Cohen then said that Booko would attend the reunion, so he’d have to “deal” with criticism regardless.
“Valley” fans have been blasting Booko for his treatment of Sanchez, 36, and his excessive drinking during Season 3 of the series.
Much of the outrage exploded after recent episodes showed the couple clashing repeatedly during a cast trip to San Diego while caring for their infant daughter.
Fans accused Booko of belittling Sanchez.
During “The Valley: After Show,” Booko defended the fact that he appeared irritated with his wife for wanting more help with their kids on vacation.
“We paid for [their nanny] to be here,” he argued, questioning why he was being asked to handle “so many things” during the trip.
Booko and Sanchez, who wed in October 2015, are the parents of son Asher, 4, twin daughters Isabelle Marie and Zariah Rose, 2, and Adelaide, 11 months.
