Sportscaster Erin Andrews opened up about why you’ll never see her in heels on the sidelines.

“First of all, let’s talk about what goes on,” Andrews, 48, said while setting the scene of a big NFL game during her Wednesday, September 2, appearance on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast. “You have to be in shape because you’re on your feet for four and a half hours, which is wild.”

She added, “Another thing that’s difficult [is] you may have a fantastic outfit, but baby girl, you are wearing flats.”

Andrews continued, “You’ve got a field. You’ve got wires. You’ve got cameras. You’ve got 300-pound men … there’s so much that you are high-stepping, tiptoeing, pointe-shoeing on. It is banana land.”

Host Alex Cooper then asked if she’s ever worn a heel “early” in her career before she knew better, to which Andrews replied, “I can’t! I would sink.”

Erin Andrews’ sidelines looks are continuing to command attention after her faux fur coat viral moment. “I’m pretty much a tomboy anyway, and I like to be comfortable on my feet,” she said, noting that she’s worn pointed-toe shoes before, but immediately wanted her sneakers “back.”

While she’s a self-described “tomboy,” Andrews still has plenty of stylish looks. In January, she made headlines for wearing a glamorous faux fur coat during a San Francisco vs. Philadelphia Eagles game. Her Auter jacket featured a tan collar with black-and-white spotted fur lining her bodice and sleeves.

After going viral, Andrews opened up about the look during her “Calm Down With Erin and Charissa” podcast. “Listen, this is a girl that walks around with a Tumi backpack and a North Face and a ski suit every week,” she said. “I knew it was freaking fun, and fashionable and outside the box for me. I was like, ‘This is fun,’ and I’m actually proud of myself because you know I’m super safe, within the box, and I was like, ‘This is fun! F*** it!’”

She also clarified that the jacket was not made from any real fur. “What world do you guys live in, by the way, that you think as animal lovers, [I would wear real fur],” she said. “I’m not wearing real fur, you moron! I started an animal sanctuary!”
