NFL alum Sam Beal has been missing for more than six months, his sister revealed, as she turns to the public for help finding him.
On Monday, Jan. 12, the sister of former New York Giants cornerback Beal, 29, shared a post to Facebook that included Beal’s driver’s license photo, a missing persons report and a receipt from the day he was last heard from.
TMZ was the first to report the news.
“Tomorrow makes it seven months since we’ve last heard from or seen my brother,” Essence Zhane wrote. “We’ve done everything we could on our end to piece things together and at this point we’re in desperate need of support on all ends.”
“I’m not here to answer a bunch of why’s and how’s,” she continued. “I just need this to land in the right direction to gain some form of answers or closure. I’m a Big sister and I need my brother to know that We Love You and miss you and this has been a heavy feeling for months to carry around.”
According to a profile for Beal on the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System (NamUs), the 29-year-old was last seen on July 12, 2025, after dropping his girlfriend off at her house.
The NFL alum was supposed to use her car to drive to work, but instead, he allegedly headed toward Virginia Beach, Va.
He contacted his girlfriend again on July 13 and told her that he was in Virginia Beach and was going to drive home.
“Samuel did not return home the next day,” the report states, adding that he hasn’t been heard from or seen since the phone call with his girlfriend.
The missing persons report states that the only things he brought with him was the clothing he was wearing, a pair of slides, and his wallet that contained his banking card and driver’s license.
His girlfriend’s car was later found in Virginia Beach by one of her family members. Beal’s shoes and socks were found on the floor of the front passenger seat, along with some sand.
Beal is described as 6’2″ and 185 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, a short beard and a muscular build.

The Giants selected Beal in Round 3 of the 2018 supplemental draft, according to NJ.com.
Beal missed his rookie season with a shoulder injury and opted out of the 2020 season because of COVID-19 concerns, the outlet reported. He played six games in 2019 and three in 2021, before getting cut near the end of that season.
His sister has asked anyone with information about his disappearance to reach out to the Kentwood Police Department in Michigan at (616) 698-6580, or to the missing persons investigators in Virginia Beach at (757) 385-4101 or (757) 385-4141.
