The hosts of Good Mythical Morning have a children’s book on the way!
Rhett McLaughlin and Link Neal, hosts of the most-watched daily show on the internet, have written Spaghetti Head & Chicken Fingers, the pair’s first-ever children’s book. Available in June 2026, the book follows two friends who unexpectedly get up-close-and-personal with their favorite foods.
“It is for the picky eater in your life, and it explores the concept of ‘You are what you eat’ — literally,” McLaughlin said on the Oct. 13 show.
Spaghetti Head & Chicken Fingers, illustrated by Erica Salcedo, meets two friends Saffy and Lumo, who adore buttered pasta and chicken fingers, respectively. “It’s the only thing either of them will eat!” the book’s synopsis reads.
“But when Saffy wakes up to find she has spaghetti for hair, and Lumo’s hands sprout chicken fingers, the saying ‘you are what you eat’ takes on a whole new meaning,” the synopsis continues. “How will they get back to normal? And do they even want to?”
McLaughlin and Neal, both fathers, have “witnessed the daily drama of picky eating up close,” they said in a press release from publisher HarperCollins. The pair hopes their relatable tale brings smiles to children and parents alike during story time.
The book features vibrant illustrations from “incomparable” Salcedo, who has illustrated a range of children’s books includingThe Ugliest Monster in the World and All Bodies are Good Bodies.
