Hotel guest heard ‘loud, violent scream’ from Liam Payne’s room before singer’s death: report

A hotel guest has come forward alleging they heard a “really loud, violent scream” from Liam Payne’s hotel room shortly before the One Direction band member fell from his third floor balcony, resulting in his untimely death.
The insider, who was staying at the CasaSur Palermo Hotel in Buenos Aires, Argentina, on Wednesday, told People they heard “a lot of noise” coming from Payne’s room in the moments before his death.
“I thought it was construction. I thought they were working on the room,” the guest shared, describing the noise as “heavy lifting” or “banging.”
The guest continued, adding that they soon after saw hotel staff “going in and out” of Payne’s room. The witness claimed to have heard “more noise” coming from the space until 4:30 p.m. local time.
The insider then “heard sirens” after first responders arrived, though he didn’t pay it much thought until he “came down the elevator” to see the “whole street was full of cop cars.”
As previously reported, the hotel’s manager made the call to police to report an “aggressive man who could be under the influence of drugs or alcohol,” per Pablo Policicchio, the spokesperson for the Security Ministry of Buenos Aires municipality.
Buenos Aires police arrived on the scene around 5 p.m. where they discovered Payne’s body. Medics confirmed the singer’s death on the spot.
Policicchio revealed that the singer had fallen “from the balcony of his room” located on the third floor of the hotel.
The preliminary autopsy report revealed the musician suffered multiple traumas as a result of the fall that led to internal and external bleeding.
An emergency medical doctor further detailed the extent of the damage, sharing that the singer sustained “extremely serious injuries” in the fall including a cranial fracture, which led to his “immediate” death.
“Our role was to head there quickly, give medical attention and try to resuscitate him, but his injuries were incompatible with life,” Alberto Crescenti said, per the US Sun.
Crescenti did not discuss whether Payne had been under the influence of drugs or alcohol at the time of his death.
Though, the statement received by Page Six notes that alcohol and controlled substances were found in his room following his death.
