If you missed “Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 1” during its June 2024 theatrical release or its initial streaming release in August 2024, you’re in luck: the Kevin Costner-helmed western is officially available to stream for free.

“Horizon” is the first installment in a planned four-part epic starring Costner. In addition to acing in the film, Costner developed, wrote, produced, and directed the project, which follows families, friends, and foes during a period of westward expansion as the Civil War rages on.

Getting “Horizon” made was Costner’s passion project since 1988, when it was first commissioned as a single film, and it eventually contributed to his contentious exit from the series ahead of Season 5B.

“Horizon: An American Saga – Chapter 2” was completed and premiered at the 2024 Venice International Film Festival. Its release was initially dated for August 16, 2024, but due to “Chapter 1” underperforming, the second installment was indefinitely delayed until further notice.

As of May 2026, the film has not been released.
