Inside Brad Pitt’s tight bond with late mom Jane Etta Pitt

Brad Pitt shared a close bond with his mother, Jane Etta Pitt, before her death.

The movie star, 61, often brought along the matriarch to high profile events and spoke about her and his father, William Alvin Pitt, in interviews.

When Brad was just a rising star, he said during a press junket that he didn’t consider his parents to be strict growing up, but noted they had “a lot of family integrity.”

When asked if his folks were happy to see him embark on an acting career, the “Thelma and Louise” star quipped with a smile, “They were once I got a job. In fact, they didn’t know about it ’til I got a job.”

It was evident that over the years Jane had grown very fond of her son’s professional pursuits.

She proudly accompanied him to the New York City premiere of “The Devil’s Own” in 1996 and was by his side for the premiere of “Unbroken” in 2014

Jane also gleamed on the red carpet for the 2012 Academy Awards, where Brad was nominated in the best actor category for his role in “Moneyball.”

The retired school counselor got all dolled up for the glamorous night, wearing an elegant navy blue gown.

On occasion, Jane also embraced opportunities to be in the spotlight even without her famous son.

In 2002, she took part in a special segment on the “Late Show” with David Letterman called “Top Ten Pieces Of Advice I Have Given My Child” alongside moms of other celebs for Mother’s Day.

When it was time for Jane to share her tip, she said, “Don’t believe all the hype you read about yourself, honey — actually, you’re a short, overweight, bald guy.”

In 2020, the matriarch celebrated her milestone 80th birthday, and Brad reportedly offered his mansion outside of Santa Barbara, Calif., to host to family gathering.

The Sun reported at the time that the Oscar winner had sent a private jet to pick up his mom and dad, and he had given his relatives the keys to his property in Goleta.

Brad’s niece, Sydney Pitt, gave a glimpse of the festivities online, including pics of the family in matching outfits at the beach. She then wrote, “To the best Grammy around, happy 80th. Couldn’t love you more!”

This past June, just a month before Jane passed, Brad sweetly gave his mom a shoutout on the “Today” show, telling Savannah Guthrie, “I gotta say hi to my mom ’cause she watches you every morning.”

“To Jane Pitt,” he added before blowing a big kiss in her direction. “Love you, mom.”

It’s unknown whether Jane had been ill at the time, but Sydney was who confirmed via Instagram Wednesday that her grandmother had sadly died.

“My sweet Grammy, Jane Etta, we were not ready for you to go yet but knowing you are finally free to sing, dance, and paint again makes it a tad easier,” she captioned a post featuring throwback pics.

“If you knew Grammy, you knew she had the biggest heart. She cared deeply for everyone and everything, no questions asked.”

The Watering Souls founder continued, “She taught me how to paint, how to be strong, how to lead with kindness, to love Jesus through everything, and to find joy in the smallest things.

“She made up the silliest games just to make us laugh, and she believed in fairness, in putting others first, and doing good simply because it was the right thing to do.”

Sydney concluded, “We were truly blessed to have her to love on growing up and I know she lives on through each of us ♥️✨🦜.”

Brad has yet to issue an official statement on his mother’s passing.
