Jared Leto addresses sexual assault, sex with a minor accusations after women come forward
Jared Leto spoke out against the sexual assault accusations made in BBC’s “Jared Leto: Hollywood’s Dark Secret.”
“I have never sexually assaulted anyone in my entire life,” the actor told Page Six in a statement Wednesday.
The 30 Seconds to Mars frontman, 54, dubbed the claims “absolutely and categorically false.”
Multiple alleged victims came forward in the documentary, with four — identified with “Isabel,” “Alex,” “Clara” and “Etta” pseudonyms — describing alleged sexual misconduct that occurred when they were teenagers.
The first alleged incident took place in 2002 when “Isabel” was 17, with her claiming the Oscar winner sexually assaulted her in a motel bathroom.
Four years later, Leto allegedly had sex with then-17-year-old “Clara” and “shrugged off” a conversation about California’s age of consent.
The Golden Globe winner allegedly threatened “Alex” with sexual assault in a hotel room when she was 19, while “Etta” claimed Leto groomed her the following year.
The then-16-year-old allegedly received repeated sexually explicit phone calls from the “Dallas Buyers Club” star, as well as one suggestion that they should have sex.
Additionally, a woman named “Taylor” claimed Leto made a sexual comment about her chest during an autograph signing at a music festival — in front of her mom — and allegedly asked a security guard to take her backstage.
Four other women also made allegations in the doc about receiving often sexually explicit phone calls from Leto.
Elsewhere in the project, men who worked with Leto’s band alleged that staffers were not comfortable with his “way too big … age gap” with the girls allegedly invited backstage to his dressing room or to the house where he was recording music.
Wednesday’s allegations come less than one year after Leto was accused of sexual impropriety by nine women in an Air Mail exposé.
He “expressly denied” the claims at the time.
Nearly two decades prior, The Post reported that Leto was allegedly “approaching” and “hitting on” teen models at New York City’s Maritime Hotel and “constantly texting” 16 and 17-year-olds.
