Jimmy Fallon’s latest book club pick is here!
On Aug. 13, the Tonight Show host, 50, announced live on air that his summer 2025 book club pick will be My Friends by Fredrik Backman.
The newest novel from the A Man Called Ove and Beartown author, My Friends tells the story of a teenage runaway and a former teacher who are brought together by a painting that holds deep meaning to both of them.
Fallon unveiled the book from a special Tonight Show briefcase, before he shared that every audience member would also go home with a copy.
Earlier this month, Fallon announced the return of his Fallon Book Club, and asked viewers for help with what to read next. The winner was picked from suggestions sent to the book club’s Instagram account, and included titles like The Road to Tender Hearts by Annie Hartnett, What Will People Think? by Sara Hamdan, Maggie; Or, A Man and a Woman Walk Into a Bar by Katie Yee and What Kind of Paradise by Janelle Brown.
“We’re going to look at everything, and then we’re just going to go ‘This one seems, like, on brand for us,’ ” Fallon said in his initial Aug. 6 announcement . “And then we’re all going to read it together. Summer’s not over. We’ve got time to read. We want everyone to read!”

Fallon first launched his book club in 2018. In spring 2024, he re-introduced the club as a March Madness-style bracket, timed to the NCAA tournament.
In July 2025, Fallon selected The God of the Woods by Liz Moore as his official 2024 summer book club read. The literary thriller charts the disappearance of a girl from an upstate New York summer camp — and links it to the mysterious vanishing of her brother years earlier.
“I’m so excited to share The God of the Woods with Tonight Show viewers,” Moore previously told PEOPLE. “I hope they’ll enjoy it this summer (on the beach or in the woods)!”
