Jonathan Anderson breaks silence on ’emotional’ experience designing Taylor Swift’s Dior wedding dress

The bride wore Dior.

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot at Madison Square Garden, surrounded by 1,000 of their friends and family, on July 3, with both bride and groom fashioned in custom Christian Dior Haute Couture by Jonathan Anderson.

It marks Anderson’s first couture wedding dress for a celebrity, and the designer spoke for the first time about the experience Monday.

“It was a joy to work with her. We became very good friends,” Anderson told WWD after unveiling his second couture collection for the house — which included a decidedly Swiftian bridal gown.

He added, “It’s an emotional thing doing someone’s wedding.”

Though images have yet to be released of the look itself, the speculation alone is driving fans wild.

While there were certainly many designers in the running for the custom look, it was Dior’s newly-appointed Creative Director who nabbed the gig.

The 41-year-old designer secretly crafted the looks in Paris, as confirmed by a statement from the brand that added he worked “in close collaboration with the couple.”

As Swift is the Easter egg queen, she did spend the lead-up to her wedding dropping hints of who her chosen designer might be, carrying everything from the brand’s Cigale bag to a Knicks game in May to their bright yellow Lady Dior back in April.

For now, we’ll have to wait until official wedding night photos are released — Swift surely has them under lock-and-key.
