Kaia Gerber Says She Doesn’t Look ‘Even Close’ to Mom Cindy Crawford: ‘I Wish I Did’

Kaia Gerber is flattered so many of Us think she looks just like her supermodel mom, Cindy Crawford — she just doesn’t see it.

“In all seriousness, it’s an honor when people tell me I look like my mom,” Gerber, 24, said of fans comparing her to her mother, 60, while speaking with Yahoo Entertainment on Monday, August 4. “I wish I did. I think even on my best days, I’m not even close.

The young model went on to add that it “means so much” to her to receive such a compliment, even if she doesn’t buy it herself.

“I think she’s just the most beautiful woman inside and out,” she said of her mother. “And so if there’s any way that I remind anyone of her, it’s just, like, the largest compliment.”

Fans were quick to disagree with the model in the comments section.

“She’s Cindy’s twin,” one wrote, while another added, “Girl, you look exactly like her. Crazy she can’t see it lol.” A third commented, “Mind you they’re literally twins 😂😂😂.”

Throughout the years, Kaia, whom Crawford shares with husband Rande Gerber, has channeled her mom and by recreating a number of her most iconic looks. For her 18th birthday in May 2021, Kaia looked just like her mom in a custom Versace bondage dress featuring leather straps with gold hardware, a corset top and a leather mini skirt.

Fans were quick to recognize the look, which was inspired by Crawford’s 1992 MTV Video Music Awards look. At the time, the actress wore a sheer corset with thick leather straps crisscrossing over her chest and waist, completed with a floor-length black skirt.

Kaia again looked just like Crawford in 2024 when she rocked a vintage Hervé Léger dress once worn by Crawford herself. While posing on the red carpet at the Shell premiere in Toronto, she wore a white figure-hugging look featuring underwire cups and thick straps. She styled the look with white Jimmy Choo heels, a diamond necklace and matching earrings.

Crawford originally wore the dress at the 1993 Oscars, when she attended with her then-husband Richard Gere. Just like Kaia, she accessorized with a diamond necklace and earrings.

Most recently, Kaia and Crawford hit the red carpet together in November 2025 at the LACMA Art+Film Gala in Los Angeles. At the time, Kaia stunned in a red sequin dress featuring a plunging neckline and a column skirt. Crawford glittered beside her girl in a gold beaded look finished with an off-the-shoulder neckline.
