Kate Middleton attends Wimbledon after admitting to having to put on a ‘brave face’ following her cancer battle
Kate Middleton has nothing but love for tennis.
The Princess of Wales — who has regularly attended Wimbledon over the years — stepped out to attend the annual tennis tournament for the first time this season on Saturday.
Middleton was photographed wearing an ivory belted blazer-style top and cream pleated skirt.
She also sported a Wimbledon purple and dark green bow pinned to the left side of her top, signifying her status as a patron of the tennis tournament.
Middleton sat in the royal box at Centre Court to watch American tennis star Amanda Anisimova and Poland’s Iga Swiatek face off in the women’s singles final.
The royal will later present the champion with their trophy.
The sighting comes soon after Middleton got candid about her cancer recovery during her visit to Colchester Hospital in Colchester, England, earlier this month, where she admitted she’s had to put on a “brave face” as she returned to her “normal” life.
“You put on a sort of brave face, stoicism through treatment,” she explained. “Treatment’s done, then it’s like, ‘I can crack on, get back to normal,’ but actually [that’s not the case].”
The 43-year-old — who revealed her cancer diagnosis in March 2024 — added that despite “not necessarily [being] under the clinical team any longer,” she was unable “to function normally at home as [she] perhaps once used to.”
Finding a “new normal … takes time,” Middleton continued.
After announcing her cancer-free status in January, the princess has since returned to some of her royal duties.
In addition to her appearance at this year’s Trooping the Colour in June, she most recently stood alongside her husband, Prince William, as they welcomed French President Emmanuel Macron to the UK on Tuesday.
However, Middleton was a no-show at her husband’s annual polo match on Friday.
Every year, the Prince of Wales competes in the Out-Sourcing Inc. Royal Charity Polo Cup, which raises funds for various charities that the royal couple supports.
She also skipped the event in 2024.
