Kelly Clarkson’s talk show’s fate revealed after ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s death

Kelly Clarkson will reportedly return to her eponymous talk show in the fall following the death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock.

After months of speculation surrounding the future of “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” sources told TMZ on Friday that new episodes featuring the host, 43, will be released in September.

Reps for Clarkson and the show did not immediately respond to Page Six’s requests for comment.

Blackstock died on Thursday at age 48 following a private years-long struggle with melanoma.

The talent manager passed away “peacefully … surrounded by family,” according to a rep for the family.

“We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time,” the statement concluded.

We hear Clarkson stepped away from her NBC show to take care of Blackstock— whom she divorced in 2022 after a lengthy and contentious legal battle — while he battled skin cancer.

“It’s been exhausting and so sad,” a source told Page Six on Thursday. “Kelly has been working so hard, as well as looking after Brandon.

“Despite their difficult divorce, he’s still the man she loved and still her kids’ father,” the insider continued.

During Clarkson’s abrupt departure between February and March, several celebrity guest hosts, including Simu Liu, Roy Woods Jr. and Brooke Shields, took over.

Many questioned Clarkson’s future on the talk show following this leave of absence.

In terms of her other gigs, the “Stronger” hitmaker canceled the remainder of her “Studio Sessions” Las Vegas residency dates through August on Wednesday.

The “American Idol” alum wrote via Instagram she needed “to be fully present” for her family while Blackstock continued to deal with a “serious” illness.

The news came after Clarkson had already canceled her opening show in July at the last minute.

At the time, a source told Page Six the cancellations were due to the songwriter “fighting some serious hidden battles that very few people are privy to.”

Clarkson’s residency is expected to resume in November.
