Kim Kardashian calls out ‘inhumane’ ICE for ‘ripping’ families apart as LA riots rage on: ‘We can’t turn a blind eye’
Kim Kardashian called out “inhumane” US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) for “ripping” hardworking families apart as the Los Angeles riots rage on.
“When we’re told that ICE exists to keep our country safe and remove violent criminals — great,” the Skims co-founder wrote on her Instagram Stories Tuesday.
“But when we witness innocent, hardworking people being ripped from their families in inhumane ways, we have to speak up. We have to do what’s right.”
Kardashian, who grew up in the City of Angels, said she has “seen how deeply immigrants are woven into the fabric of this city.”
“They are our neighbors, friends, classmates, coworkers, and family. No matter where you fall politically, it’s clear that our communities thrive because of the contributions of immigrants,” the mom of four, 44, continued.
“We can’t turn a blind eye when fear and injustice keep people from living their lives freely and safely. There HAS to be a BETTER way.”
Kardashian then reposted a clip of Doechii’s speech from Monday’s BET Awards 2025, in which the “Anxiety” rapper, 26, called out President Trump for deploying “military forces to stop a protest.”
“There are ruthless attacks that are creating fear and chaos in our communities in the name of law and order,” Doechii, born Jaylah Hickmon, added.
The LA protests began last Friday when federal agents searched the city’s garment district for workers who were alleged to be undocumented immigrants.
The action — which is part of the Trump administration’s new focus on raiding workplaces — prompted people to express their First Amendment right to protest.
Though most of the demonstrations were peaceful, some have turned violent, with several people being caught on video looting stores and destroying property.
California Governor Gavin Newsom filed an emergency request in federal court Tuesday to block the Trump administration from deploying the National Guard and Marines.
