Kim Kardashian had a manicure malfunction at the Met Gala 2025: ‘Used up all the glue on the sister’s shoes’

Kim Kardashian’s manicure went sideways — literally — as she walked the blue carpet at the Met Gala on Monday.

In footage from the incident, the reality icon could be seen adjusting the corseted top of her black leather Chrome Hearts ensemble when the acrylic nail, which appeared to detach from her right middle finger, flew into the air and landed on the carpet.

A security guard quickly retrieved the rogue pink nail, and a viral moment was born.

Kardashian appeared to be stunned by the manicure mishap in the TikTok clip, but continued to pose effortlessly for the cameras before making her way up the stairs and into the legendary fashion event.

The mom of four, 44, rocked the edgy look, which included a bustier top and ultra low-rise skirt, at the gala along with rows of diamonds on her neck.

The “KUWTK” star finished the standout ensemble with a black fedora, strings of pearls around the waist and several diamond rings.

Fans in the comments thread couldn’t help but weigh in on the tragic nail incident — with some even mentioning sister Kylie Jenner’s shoe snafu.

“They used up all the glue on the sister’s shoes,” quipped a follower, referring to Jenner’s mishap.

“Gotta ask Kylie what she used for her feet/shoes for her nails,” joked another.

After her own appearance at the Met Gala, the Kylie Cosmetics mogul shared footage of her team attempting to remove her Ferragamo heels, which were stuck to her feet.

“Max told me to tape my feet into the shoe,” she said via her Instagram Stories, referring to Maximilian Davis of Ferragamo. “And now my feet are stuck in the shoes!”

Still, other fans were unimpressed by Kardashian’s choice of nails.

“Rich people using press on nails,” joked a follower. “I feel important now.” Another marveled, “all that money and she couldn’t get the good glue?!”

The SKIMS founder has been known to use press-on nails for events.

In fact, the TV star admitted in 2018 to having press-on nails flown in for that year’s Met Gala — via Katy Perry’s plane.

Per People, after a fan account on X shared snaps of Perry checking out Kardashian’s manicure at the soirée, another fan quipped, “I can already hear Kim. ‘I don’t usually do long nails so I decided to switch it up tonight.’”

The reality star was quick to respond in the comments thread. “Katy actually flew my nails on her plane over to me from LA LOL,” she explained at the time.

“They are just glued on! So had to show her!”

It may not have been Kardashian’s best evening — she was also caught snapping at a security guard for stepping on her dress ahead of the event as she left the Ritz-Carlton hotel in New York.

Still, she eventually managed to make her way to Richie Akiva’s annual star-studded afterparty, The After, at Casa Cipriani in Manhattan following the gala.
