Lauren Conrad has awkward response to Spencer Pratt’s Los Angeles mayoral bid
There’s one vote that will remain unwritten.
Lauren Conrad had an awkward response when asked about her former “Hills” co-star Spencer Pratt’s bid for Los Angeles mayor.
While on Wednesday’s episode of “Today” alongside her fellow “Laguna Beach” alums Stephen Colletti and Kristin Cavallari, hosts Jenna Bush Hager and Sheinelle Jones asked the trio if they would vote for Pratt.
“I’m not a resident of Los Angeles,” Conrad responded, before Colletti quipped, “We live in Orange County.”
“I’ve seen it everywhere,” Cavallari further said about Pratt’s campaign. “I can’t get away from it.”
“I don’t live in LA either, but I think he’s onto something,” she added. “We will see what happens. I will always have a soft spot for Spencer. “
The talk show hosts then inquired whether Conrad and Pratt have since squashed their beef from their time on the MTV reality show.
Conrad kept quiet while keeping her gaze on Cavallari. She then claimed she didn’t know the question was being directed at her, leading to some awkward laughs amongst the group.
Once things settled on set, the fashion designer passively stated, “Sure.”
“You’re asking me about people I haven’t spoken to in decades,” Conrad elaborated, agreeing with Bush Hager that she “doesn’t care” at this point.
It’s safe to say that even if Conrad did live in the voting district, Pratt might not be her first pick for mayor.
The pair share a rocky past from their days on “The Hills,” which ran on MTV from 2006 to 2010.
Pratt and his wife, Heidi Montag — who wed in 2008 and share sons Gunner and Ryker — stayed on the series for all six seasons.
Conrad, meanwhile, departed the “Laguna Beach” spinoff halfway through Season 5.
Montag and Conrad were best friends until the latter accused the couple of spreading rumors about an alleged sex tape she made with ex-boyfriend Jason Wahler.
The allegations spurred the infamous scene of Conrad yelling at Montag: “You know what you did!”
Despite the massive feud, Montag revealed in 2023 that her former BFF was actually a huge fan of Pratt’s before things got complicated.
“So, actually, she loved Spencer to the point where I was like, ‘OK, you don’t need to love him that much!’” the singer shared while on Page Six’s “Virtual Reali-Tea” podcast at the time.
While Conrad and Pratt have moved on from their reality television drama, the “Princes of Malibu” alum has entered himself into a different kind of circus: local politics.
Pratt is running for Los Angeles mayor after losing his Pacific Palisades home to last year’s devastating wildfires.
The television vet, who is a Republican, is currently in second place — behind Mayor Karen Bass — according to a recent poll from UCLA Luskin School of Public Affairs.
