Meghan Markle Thanks Prince Harry for Making 44th Birthday ‘So Special’: ‘Beautiful 24 Hours’

Meghan Markle feels lucky that her husband, Prince Harry, cares so much about making each trip around the sun unforgettable.
“Blowing out the candles on a beautiful 24 hours, and thanking my husband, friends and family for making it so special,” Meghan, 44, wrote in a Tuesday, August 5, Instagram post. “To those of you I don’t know, but who send love every day – thank you so much. Please know I feel it and appreciate it ❤️.”
Alongside her caption, Meghan shared a photo of herself making a wish on her flower-decorated cake. She added some details on where the snap was taken, noting, “And just to get a little foodie on you….this dinner last night at @funke_la with the culinary mastery of @evanfunke and his team is in the top five meals of my life. Extraordinary 🍝 Thank you for a standout dining experience.”
Meghan’s expression of gratitude comes one day after her 44th birthday on Monday, August 4. While the Duchess of Sussex took 24 hours before taking to social media to reflect, an influx of kind messages were sent her way on her big day.
Abigail Spencer, who starred alongside Meghan on Suits, honored her longtime friend with a sweet birthday post on Monday, writing via Instagram, “As glorious as the day I met you. Champagne in human form. A creature unlike any other. Thank you for being a sister in this life, and beyond. Words can’t capture. From the rooftops. So grateful for your life, @meghan. Thanks for saving mine.”
The As Ever founder quickly took to the comments section to thank her pal for the kind words. “Thank you, sweet Abs!” she gushed. “Right back at you, and happy birthday to YOU!” (Spencer’s birthday also lands on August 4.)
Kelly McKee Zajfen and Tracy Robbins also offered happy birthday messages, to which she responded with messages of thanks and a handful of heart emojis.
Meghan rejoined Instagram in January with her own personal account, nearly five years after last posting on her and Harry’s now-defunct joint page. She has since shared a series of important life milestones with her 4.1 million followers, including son Prince Archie’s sixth birthday. (Meghan and Harry, 40, also share 4-year-old daughter Princess Lilibet.)
“Our son. Our sun. Happy 6th birthday to Archie!” Meghan wrote in May with a photo of her and the little one staring at a sunset together. “Thank you for all of the love, prayers and warm wishes for our sweet boy. He’s 6! Where did the time go? (And for all of you who came to celebrate with us at his party last weekend, thank you for making his birthday so incredibly special ❤️).”
Just weeks later, she took a moment to honor her and Harry’s wedding anniversary with a romantic tribute.
“Seven years of marriage. A lifetime of stories,” she captioned a carousel of photos from their relationship. “Thanks to all of you (whether by our side, or from afar) who have loved and supported us throughout our love story — we appreciate you. Happy anniversary! ❤️.”
