Miley Cyrus ‘Never Thought’ She’d Get Married Again Before Maxx Morando: He ‘Changed Everything’ (Exclusive)

“There was too much conflict,” Cyrus told Howard Stern in December 2020 when reflecting on her marriage. “When I come home, I want to be anchored by someone. I don’t get off on drama or fighting.”

The Grammy winner added, “I really do and did love him very, very, very much and still do, always will.”

While Cyrus previously dated Patrick Schwarzenegger and Cody Simpson, the former Hannah Montana star found something special in Morando after a blind date in the summer of 2021.

Although the duo mostly kept their relationship out of the spotlight, Cyrus recently joked about their nearly six-year age gap during an appearance on the “Sorry We’re Cyrus” podcast.

“He will be 27 when I turn 33, which I’m so excited for him to turn 27 ’cause that was such a great year for me,” she said during a June episode. “I’m just hoping that, as long as he follows in my footsteps, everything is going to be great. That’s right when I started turning my life around.”

As for what makes Morando such a great match for Cyrus, the Disney Channel alum gave a little credit to the world of astrology.

“He’s a Scorpio and so is his grandfather, that’s what makes Maxx just so cool because he can sting. Like, [Scorpios are] very cool, think that they’re little angels, until it turns around and they got a sting,” she explained. “I couldn’t be with someone [who] doesn’t sting. They would have been toast already.”

As Cyrus continues to celebrate her new relationship status, the “We Can’t Stop” singer may remember some advice she received about love and marriage from her parents, Billy Ray Cyrus and Tish Cyrus.

Before her parents went their separate ways in 2022 after 28 years of marriage, Miley recalled a life lesson that may never go out of style.

“Nothing and no one stays the same,” she told Cosmopolitan in August 2017. “Grow, evolve, change with each other and celebrate your love’s journey!”
