Millie Bobby Brown reacts to ‘Godzilla vs Kong’ co-star Kaylee Hottle’s death at 18
Millie Bobby Brown is “devastated” over her “Godzilla vs Kong” co-star Kaylee Hottle’s death at 18 on Tuesday.
The “Stranger Things” alum posted a black-and-white photo of the late child star in the 2021 film via Instagram Stories.
“I’m so devastated to hear this,” the 22-year-old told her followers of Hottle’s fatal Maryland car accident.
She concluded, “You will be deeply missed Kaylee.”
When Brown and Hottle first shared the screen, they played Madison Russell and Jia, respectively.
The duo revised their roles three years later for the next installment in the franchise, “Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire.”
News broke Tuesday of the deaf actress’ passing after her dad released a tearful Facebook video about flying to Maryland from Texas to claim the teen’s body.
Joshua Hottle explained in the social media upload that he received a call about Kaylee’s crash — then, shortly after, another call that her heart had stopped on the way to the hospital.
Page Six subsequently confirmed the driver of the car Hottle was in “swerved off the road and hit a ditch” in Ijamsville at 3 a.m.
“Excessive speed is believed to be a contributing factor in the collision,” the Fredrick County Sheriff’s Department wrote in a press release.
The 1995 Honda Accord, operated by a 19-year-old, “traveled off the right side of the two-lane roadway and struck a culvert.”
The car’s other passenger denied medical assistance, while the driver was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Kaylee, transported to a local trauma center, was pronounced dead.
She had been visiting the area, according to emergency dispatch obtained by Page Six, and was “unconscious” when paramedics arrived at the scene.
Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is still investigating the crash.
