Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry confirm split in joint statement

They’re the ones that got away.
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have confirmed their shocking breakup.
“Due to the abundance of recent interest and conversation surrounding Orlando Bloom and Katy Perry’s relationship, representatives have confirmed that Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting,” reps for the former couple said in a joint statement to Page Six on Thursday.
“They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is — and always will be — raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect.”
The exes’ confirmation comes after the “Pirates of the Caribbean” star got candid about feeling “loneliness” and “sadness” via his Instagram Stories on Wednesday.
He reposted a carousel of quotes from Swiss psychiatrist and psychotherapist Carl Jung.
“Loneliness does not come from having no people about one, but from being unable to communicate that seem important to oneself,” one quote read, which was originally shared via the Instagram account @SAPIENKIND.
“Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of darkness, and the word happy would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness,” a second quote read.
A source close to the formerly engaged pair told Us Weekly the stars decided to call it quits last month.
“It’s not contentious at the moment. Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.”
The insider went on to share that things between Perry and Bloom had been “a long time coming” as things had been “tense” between the couple for months,
The “Teenage Dream” singer — who is currently on her “Lifetimes” tour — has been dealing with the split by “keeping busy” with work.
In the days since their breakup, Bloom was spotted partying with friends Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez at one of the couple’s lavish pre-wedding parties in Italy.
Perry, on the other hand, skipped the highly publicized wedding. But Sanchez still sent the singer some love via Instagram in her absence.
Perry, 40, and Bloom, 48, first became acquainted after meeting at a Golden Globes afterparty in 2016.
In 2019, the “Thinking of You” hitmaker became engaged to Bloom on Valentine’s Day.
The following year, they welcomed their daughter, Daisy Dove — their only child together — on August 26.
