Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s son, Archie, rocks England soccer shirt ahead of UK trip
Prince Archie sported an England soccer T-shirt while hugging his father, Prince Harry, in a sweet Father’s Day tribute on Sunday.
The 7-year-old was photographed holding onto the Duke of Sussex alongside his 5-year-old sister, Princess Lilibet, per a photo shared by Meghan Markle on Instagram.
“They’re so lucky to have you 🥹,” the Duchess of Sussex captioned the photo. “We all are. Happy Father’s Day to our one and only.”
Harry, 41, and Markle, 44, tied the knot in 2018 and welcomed their son the following year.
The couple raised Archie in the UK for a little over one year before quitting the royal family in January 2020 and fleeing to North America.
The Sussexes welcomed Lilibet in June 2021 at Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital in Santa Barbara, California, and have since raised their kids nearby in Montecito.
Harry and Markle have remained estranged from the royal family since their bombshell tell-all interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021.
In the explosive sit-down, the “Suits” alum accused the royal family of racial bias, alleging that they had concerns about the potential color of Archie’s skin ahead of his birth.
Additionally, Markle alleged that her sister-in-law, Princess Kate Middleton, made her cry over the flower girl dresses leading up to the actress’s 2018 wedding.
However, Markle referred to Middleton as “a good person,” explaining that the latter apologized and sent her flowers.
Despite the family rift, insiders told Page Six that the As Ever founder and Harry were preparing to bring their kids to the UK in July.
The trip will be the little one’s first time going across the pond since 2022, though it’s unclear if they will meet with Harry’s dad, King Charles III, or any other royals.
Another insider told us that the monarch, 77, would be “diplomatic” and see Markle under the conditions of a private gathering with no photographers.
“I am sure he will see the children,” Hugo Vickers, a royal biographer, said. “The king has always left the door wide open, and he did see Harry last September.”
“It’s a good idea that Harry should reconcile privately with his father, for both their sakes. The king made it clear that he didn’t want his last years to be miserable, and Harry is burdened with enough trauma that, if Charles died without them making peace, that would just cause him even more problems,” Vickers added, referring to Charles’ ongoing cancer battle.
