‘RHOC’ alum Jeana Keough suffers terrifying health setback after tongue cancer diagnosis

“Real Housewives of Orange County” alum Jeana Keough has suffered a scary health setback as she continues to battle tongue cancer.

The reality star’s daughter, Kara, revealed Jeana’s chemo and radiation has been put on pause as a result of doctors uncovering a deep vein thrombosis (DVT) clot in her leg and an infection.

“Jeana was scheduled to get the G-tube this morning so she can get some nutrition. She hasn’t been able to eat a meal for 2 weeks, so she’s extremely depleted. We uncovered a DVT clot in her leg, and now an infection, too,” she wrote via Instagram on Tuesday.

“The feeding tube can’t be put directly into her stomach until there’s clarity on the infection. Chemo and radiation is temporarily paused so we can figure this out but you better believe Jeana is insisting she only had a ‘fake fever’ and that she’s fine to continue with the surgery.”

The daughter proceeded to ask her followers to pray that Jeana’s infection “clears quickly,” that she will be able to have her G-tube surgery “imminently” so the Bravolebrity “doesn’t murder someone,” and that she will soon be able to resume her chemo and radiation treatment.

Kara kept up a similarly positive statement when she gave another update on her mom’s health earlier this week.

“I think she’ll get cancer to bend to her will, like she does with everything else in life,” Kara, who is also based in Florida, told Us Weekly in an interview published Monday. “We’re choosing to stay in that mindset.”

Her brother echoed her optimistic tone, adding that their mother has been “strong” throughout the ordeal.

“She’s got a good support network down there,” he continued, referring to her Southern California community.

“But you know, it’s tough for everybody, and we’re just trying to make sure she stays on her program so she’s strong when this is done.”

The family announced Jeana’s diagnosis in a GoFundMe announcement over the weekend, requesting donations to support the Bravo alum while she undergoes treatment.

“A few months ago, while visiting [my brother] Shane and me in Florida, my mom mentioned a painful spot on her tongue,” Kara explained in a message on the page.

“She assumed a tooth had been rubbing against it and had even gone to the dentist multiple times to have the tooth filed down,” Kara continued, noting that Jeana went to get the spot tested and a biopsy confirmed it was “squamous cell carcinoma of the tongue.”

At the time, it was revealed that Keough had already undergone surgeries to remove the cancer and another to “remove lymph nodes.” Doctors noticed, however, that the cancer had spread following her second procedure.
