Sandra Bullock makes rare dating comment 3 years after Bryan Randall death

Sandra Bullock’s “brutally honest” daughter Laila advised the actress to start dating again after her partner Bryan Randall’s tragic death.

“She said I needed to date, but only someone where they can get stuff,” the “Practical Magic 2” star said on Thursday’s episode of the “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce podcast.”

“So I said, ‘What? A rapper? A basketball player? That’s the parameters?’” Bullock, 62, added. “She’s like, ‘Yeah.’ I went, ‘Oh.’”

Bullock is mom to son Louis, 16, and 12-year-old Laila, both of whom she adopted in her late 40s.

She raised her kids with Randall before he died in August 2023 after a private battle with ALS. He was 57.

On the podcast, Bullock opened up about being a single mom to Kylie, who shares four kids with husband Jason Kelce.

“I just lean into who they are. I meet them exactly where they are,” Bullock stated. “I’m getting something amazing — even if I’m crying on the inside.”

The “Gravity” star also confirmed that she only takes acting jobs if it works with her children’s schedules, which was the case for the new “Practical Magic” sequel.

“To me, being a mom is everything,” she explained. “My job is great, [but] my kids are my everything. So if it doesn’t work for them and my time with them, I’m not doing it.”

Bullock added, “I’m lucky that I’m one of the moms that gets to be with her kids all of the time. I have no desire to leave my kids.”

Additionally, the Oscar winner admitted she’s “glad” that her kids “don’t care” about her big-time acting career.

“People who do jobs at the office everyday, the kids don’t care,” she pointed out, joking that her kids “knew about craft service” when she was on set.

“That’s what my job was,” Bullock added. “A place that had extensive craft service.”

Bullock kept a low profile in the years that followed Randall’s death, choosing to step away from acting and focus on raising her kids.

She broke her silence on Randall’s “traumatic” passing on the “SmartLess” podcast last month, revealing that the photographer asked her to keep his ALS battle a secret.

Bullock also admitted that she “started grieving [Randall] four years” before he died.

“My person left a lot earlier than the body left,” she shared. “I don’t think I ever dealt with that until after he passed, because you’re just on this treadmill.”
