Serena Williams wears slit-up-to-there sequined dress at pre-Met Gala 2026 party

Serena Williams’ legs arrived at Anna Wintour’s pre-Met Gala dinner before she did!

The tennis legend showed up to Wintour’s private residence in Greenwich Village, New York City, on Sunday wearing a custom LaQuan Smith red sequined gown with a daring slit that made the most of her toned legs.

Williams, 44, completed her show-stopping look with black pointed-toe Christian Louboutin heels and a Roger Vivier clutch.

She parted her platinum blond waves down the middle and opted for minimal but glamorous makeup.

The mother of two — who shares daughters Olympia, 8, and Adira, 2, with husband Alexis Ohanian — has co-chaired the Met Gala in the past.

However, this year, Wintour tapped her sister, Venus Williams, to host the prestigious ball alongside Beyoncé and Nicole Kidman.

Fellow tennis great Venus, 45, her husband, Andrea Preti, were also at Sunday’s intimate soirée, dressed in coordinating black-and-orange ensembles from Pucci.

Actress Kidman was also in attendance, as were Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sánchez, who are sponsors and honorary hosts for this year’s Met Gala.

Other celebs who scored sought-after invites to the iconic former Vogue editor-in-chief’s home include pop star Sabrina Carpenter and actress Zoë Kravitz.

The 2026 Met Gala’s theme is “Costume Art,” and the dress code is “Fashion Is Art.”

It will take place Monday in the Costume Institute’s new permanent galleries at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
