TV’s biggest night is fast approaching, but before the momentous event can commence, congratulations are in order for this year’s Emmy Awards nominees!

Ahead of the 77th annual ceremony (which will be hosted by comedian Nate Bargatze on Sept. 14), actors Harvey Guillén and Brenda Song announced the nominees on Tuesday, July 15, alongside Television Academy Chair Cris Abrego. The announcement was broadcast live from Wolf Theater in the Academy’s Saban Media Center in Los Angeles.

Leading the way was Severance with 27 nominations. The Penguin followed with 24 nods while The Studio took home 23 nominations, making it now the most nominated freshman comedy in Emmys history, breaking a record previously held by Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso.

The Pitt also earned 13 nods in its first season. Additionally, multiple actors received nominations in more than one category, including Quinta Brunson, Ayo Edebiri, Seth Rogen, Catherine O’Hara and Julianne Nicholson.

As expected, there were many surprises that dominated the morning’s news, as well as snubs to some favorite actors and shows.
