Shawn Johnson calls out husband Andrew East for ‘crazy’ decision that ‘pissed’ her off

Shawn Johnson put Andrew East on blast for a “crazy” decision he made early into their marriage.

While promoting their “Couple Things” podcast on Thursday’s episode of “The Bossticks,” Johnson shared the “actual story” of how their show, which dates back to 2019, came to be.

“I got pregnant with our first, our daughter Drew, and seven days after I gave birth, he started the podcast,” the Olympic gymnast, 34, recalled.

“He launched it … with no episode,” she continued. “We had never talked about doing it. He came up with the name, he came up with the concept, and he launched it … out on Apple Podcasts.”

Since the show immediately “charted,” the duo “had no choice but to, like, do the thing.”

Johnson “was so pissed” and “so mad” since she “was postpartum with [her] first kid,” she told listeners.

“It was crazy,” she declared — with East, 34, repeatedly admitting that “mistakes were made” in the process.

His wife did, however, acknowledge that the podcast is her “favorite thing [they] do now.”

She joked that working together is “what crazy people do,” quipping that she and East “spend every waking second together.”

The couple have been together since 2012 and married since 2016.

In addition to Drew, who is now 6, they are the parents of sons Jett, 4, and Bear, 2.

Johnson made headlines in May for sharing how “much tension” she felt during their “disconnected” union after giving birth to their third child and suffering postpartum depression.

“I didn’t even know what was wrong,” the “Dancing With the Stars” champion said. “I was cold and I was distant.”

East sat his partner down and proposed they go to therapy together.

Johnson dubbed the gesture, which ultimately helped her “heal,” the “greatest gift” from her husband.
