Stassi Schroeder’s ‘resentful’ husband, Beau Clark, cries over marital woes
Stassi Schroeder’s husband, Beau Clark, is becoming “resentful” of being the stay-at-home parent.
During Wednesday’s “House of Stassi” premiere, Clark sat down with the couple’s close friend Taylor Strecker to discuss the marital issues he’s been “shoving down.”
“I’m trying to balance wanting her to have her space and to be able to not stress out when she’s working,” Clark explained. “But then also, I’m sitting here, and I’m angry and resentful.”
”I just got so detached from her that it’s like we’re roommates,” he confessed. “I don’t feel worthy.”
Clark explained that his decision to stay home with their two kids has become a point of contention between him and his wife.
“I’m trying not to stress out Stassi. She’s got the show going on and she has her podcast. She’s got brand deals and hopefully at some point, I’ll be able to find the words to just have a chat,” he said in a candid confessional.
Later in the episode, the couple had a conversation about their dynamic, which quickly became emotional.
“I just literally just feel like a 1950s housewife where I have my apron on and I’m cleaning everything while feeding the kids,” Clark told Schroeder about how giving up his career affected his mental health.
“Sometimes that’s how I feel because we don’t have that connection all the time.”
Once Clark referred to them as “roommates,” Schroeder instantly teared up.
“I want you to say things. I want you to say things the way that you tell me you don’t want things to build up. I need to make more of an effort,” she admitted.
In her own confessional, the “Stassi with Tay” podcaster applauded her husband for his constant support.
“All I know is him being with me in the thick of it every day — for the last five years. I became a mom and he was with me the whole entire time,” she said.
However, Schroeder made it clear that she is not willing to give up her reality TV career despite the issues that may arise in her marriage because of it.
“I’ve already been working for years to get here. I can’t just stop now because all of a sudden, Beau waited until this very moment to tell me that,” she insisted.
Schroeder and Clark wed in September 2020. Four months later, they welcomed their daughter, Hartford.
The parents welcomed son Messer in September 2023.
New episodes of “House of Stassi” air Wednesdays at 10 p.m. ET on Hulu.
