Ticketmaster to Re-Sell Canceled Ariana Grande Tickets: ‘Thank You for Your Patience’
NEED TO KNOW
- Ticketmaster released a statement announcing that more tickets for Ariana Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour will go on sale soon
- The ticket seller canceled a small portion of tickets that violated “ticket purchase terms”
- Grande’s tour kicks off in June
Ariana Grande and Ticketmaster have worked together to ensure more fans get tickets to her upcoming Eternal Sunshine Tour.
On Wednesday, Jan. 28, Ticketmaster shared an update regarding the Eternal Sunshine tour on social media.
“Last October, we worked with the Eternal Sunshine Tour tour to cancel a small portion of tickets that had been identified as violating our ticket purchase terms,” the post read. “Our focus is ensuring those tickets are reissued directly to fans.”
The update also explained that the tickets would be made available “through a request process” in February to ensure they “don’t go to bad actors.”
“You’ll be able to submit your request and if it can be fulfilled, your credit card will be automatically be charged and you’ll get an email from Ticketmaster with further instructions,” the post read. “While most selections will be random, we will prioritize fans who did nothing wrong but had resale tickets canceled due to the seller’s violation of our terms.”
Afterward, the “Imperfect for You” singer, 32, shared the post to her Instagram Stories and wrote: “love you all so much and thank you for your patience… more information soon.”
“Be on the lookout for another post soon with timing details,” the post concluded.
After the updated ticket information was released, a source tells PEOPLE that her team “worked really hard to keep prices down.”
The source also notes that they avoided “platinum and price scaling” — which is a system where ticket prices automatically rise and fall in real-time based on demand — and because of that, “the volume of tickets on secondaries was much lower than usual, which caused higher prices.”
Grande’s Eternal Sunshine tour — which kicks off in June — will mark her first in six years. Speaking with E! News on the carpet for the Critics Choice Awards in Los Angeles earlier this month, the singer-songwriter teased what she had in store.
“I’ve been working on the setlist for months now,” she told the outlet. “It’s in a good place, but we’ll never know until we get into the rehearsals — which are starting very soon — and we put things on their feet if it’ll make sense or not.”
Meanwhile, in November, she stopped by the Good Hang with Amy Poehler podcast and reflected on the future of her career, diving into how touring fits into all of it.
“I think the last 10 to 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up,” Grande said at the time.
“I don’t want to say any definitive things,” she said of the tour. “I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time.”
“It’s going to be beautiful and I’m so grateful that — I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah.’ For now,” she said.
