Tom Brady admits to major ‘f–k-up’ with kids after Gisele Bündchen divorce: ‘Stake through the heart’

Even the GOAT makes mistakes.

Tom Brady called last year’s viral Netflix roast a major parenting “f–k up” on his part Tuesday, even though the special initially left him on “cloud nine.”

The retired NFL player, 47, admitted to “Impaulsive” podcast listeners Tuesday that when he spoke to his kids the next day, Jack, 17, Benjamin, 15, and Vivian, 12, were not pleased.

He recalled his brood asking, “What was the point of that?”

“The Roast of Tom Brady,” notably, included a slew of jokes about his children’s mothers, Bridget Moynahan and Gisele Bündchen.

Finding out that this “was tough on” Jack, Benjamin and Vivian felt like “a stake through the heart,” Brady remembered.

“There’s some things as a parent you f–k up,” the former quarterback said. “And you don’t realize until after. Like, ugh.”

Brady shared a similar sentiment on the “Pivot” podcast in May 2024.

While the athlete thought the jokes regarding him were “so fun,” he “didn’t like the way that” other quips “affected [his] kids.”

The former New England Patriots star added, “It’s the hardest part about like, the bittersweet aspect of when you do something that you think is one way and then all of a sudden you realize, ‘I wouldn’t do that again,’ because of the way that affected actually the people that I care about the most in the world.”

However, Brady clarified last year that his error in judgment will make him a “better” parent going forward.

“You don’t see the full picture all of the time,” the Fox Sports commentator explained at the time. “It’s a good lesson for me.”

While Brady has yet to address Bündchen’s reaction to the roast, People reported she was “deeply disappointed.”

The bulk of the jokes about the model, 44, concerned her relationship with Joaquim Valente, with whom she has since welcomed a baby.

Moynahan, 54, also found herself in headlines when Nikki Glaser poked fun at how Brady began dating Bündchen while the “Blue Bloods” actress was pregnant with Jack.

The former couple‘s baby boy was born in 2007, with Brady going on to welcome Benjamin and Vivian with Bündchen in 2009 and 2012, respectively.

He and the Victoria’s Secret Angel broke up in 2022 after 13 years of marriage.

The seven-time Super Bowl winner has since been romantically linked to Irina Shayk, Brooks Nader and Kim Kardashian — which the reality star laughed off during the May 2024 roast.

“I wasn’t going to come tonight, but since I’m not here as Tom’s date, there’s still a good chance I might,” Kardashian, 44, joked.
