Val Chmerkovskiy passes ‘excruciating’ kidney stone mid-flight, shares graphic photo
Val Chmerkovskiy passed a kidney stone during a plane ride.
The “Dancing With the Stars” pro shared a graphic photo of the deposit via Instagram Stories over the weekend while breaking down the “brutal” experience.
“Passing a kidney stone on my flight home wasn’t part of my plans but here we are,” the dancer, 39, quipped Sunday. “Baby boy was a cute little bastard, about the size of a pea, and has his papa’s eyes.”
Chmerkovskiy shared the “quick story” with his followers, beginning with the “little side/back pain” he experienced after landing in Spain.
He felt “pain throughout the night,” which felt like “throbbing and poking” in the morning.
“I can’t decide if I gotta [go to the bathroom] or it’s something else, but my side and back are now KILLING ME,” the choreographer continued, noting that he tried “to walk it off” without success.
Chmerkovskiy “uncharacteristically” decided to go to the hospital because he “didn’t know what to do” about the “excruciating pain.”
He described the experience, writing, “Took some tests. Found blood in my pea [sic]. Told me I have a urinary infection, most likely caused by a kidney stone. Antibiotics, some painkiller.”
The Dance With Me co-founder could subsequently “breathe again” and “killed it” the following day while feeling “back to normal” at an “amazing event.”
When he was flying home, however, Chmerkovskiy “boom, felt a little something somewhere sacred” and went to the bathroom to find “the little guy” he photographed.
“I’m never eating sweets or ultra-fried/greasy foods again,” he concluded in all caps.
Chmerkovskiy appeared in good spirits the next day, however, when he attended the “Thunderbolts*” premiere with wife Jenna Johnson.
The duo were all smiles walking the red carpet, with Chmerkovskiy sporting a tuxedo and Johnson, 31, rocking a plunging white gown.
The couple, who compete alongside each other on “DWTS,” have been married since April 2019.
They are the parents of 2-year-old son Rome, born nearly four years after their Palos Verdes, Calif., nuptials.
