Who Is Dean McDermott’s Girlfriend? All About Lily Calo

Dean McDermott has found love with his girlfriend, Lily Calo, after parting ways with Tori Spelling.

The Chopped Canada star was first spotted with Calo in October 2023. McDermott was previously married to Spelling for more than 15 years — the two wed in 2006 and split in June 2023. They share five children together: Liam, Stella, Hattie, Finn and Beau.

Despite their split, McDermott has remained amicable with Spelling, who he said also gets along well with Calo.

“I’m blessed, you know, having everybody get along and come together for the greater good of the kids,” he told Page Six in March 2024. “I just, I’m so blessed. It’s a beautiful thing.”

She is a senior account executive at Conscious Community Global

Per her LinkedIn, which has been deactivated since photos surfaced of her and McDermott online, Calo is a senior account executive at Conscious Community Global, a health brand that focuses on creating a community to support people’s “holistic healing journeys.”

The company organizes health-conscious activities like yoga, meditation, art therapy and gardening in an attempt to “build a network of like-minded individuals,” per their bio on LinkedIn.

McDermott seems to have also collaborated with the brand, posing in a group picture on LinkedIn with Calo and other employees who are part of the “creative development team” in October 2023.

She has lived in multiple states

Calo grew up in New Jersey but moved to Austin, Texas, where she worked as the gallery director and co-founder of Canvas. She later moved to California, where she began work at Conscious Community Global in September 2023.

“I was a shy kid from the East coast with the humble goal of seeing the entire world and learning about as many other cultures as I could,” she shared in a 2021 interview, per the Daily Mail.

“I knew one way I could do this would be through the arts, but felt I was not an artist in any traditional sense,” she added. “I eventually discovered my art was within writing and that reading ironically brought me out of my shell.”

She and McDermott were first seen together in October 2023

McDermott and Calo were spotted for the first time as they walked hand in hand during a stroll in L.A. in October 2023.

They were seen again just a few days later, sharing a kiss at the Los Angeles International Airport as they put their luggage into the trunk of the van.

She has Spelling’s blessing

In April 2024, Spelling opened up about her relationship with Calo during an episode of her podcast, misSpelling.

“I like Lily a lot. It’s not bad. It’s just you know, it’s different,” the mom of five said.

She has met McDermott’s children

Calo attended an event at Dave & Buster’s in L.A. where she spent time with Spelling and McDermott’s children in March 2024. Cameras captured Spelling giving Calo a hug and kiss, even wiping off some lipstick she left on her cheek, per Page Six.

The two also rode toy motorcycles together in the arcade while the children played. McDermott and Calo were later seen leaving the party about an hour after they came.

McDermott has credited her for helping him with his sobriety

McDermott struggled with alcohol and drug abuse for three decades, telling the Daily Mail in November 2023 that his addiction contributed to the dissolution of his marriage.

“It ended up with me drinking a fifth of tequila every night, seven days a week, and a handful of narcos [narcotics] by myself with, you know, a beautiful family in the other room,” he told the outlet.

After living in a sober facility, McDermott told Page Six four months later, he is now clean and sober.

“I got to a place where I finally surrendered and admitted that I needed help,” he said, sharing that he “went into treatment and put [his] life back together.”

He added that Calo played a major role in helping maintain his sobriety by being his support system throughout the journey.

“She’s a great support for me … we check in with each other every day and keep each other accountable,” McDermott said. “She just really is a great — great help to me.” 

The Due South alum also praised his ex for her continued support as well.

“Tori has always been my biggest supporter, my biggest fan,” he told the outlet. “She just wants me to be happy, bottom line, and she’s such an incredible woman that way.”
