Food Network star attempts Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour workout
Duff Goldman is giving his blood, sweat and tears for this.
The Food Network chef revealed he was attempting Taylor Swift’s demanding Eras Tour workout routine while “training” for his band Foie Grock’s show at the International Baking Industry Exposition in Las Vegas this September.
“My wife @johnnapgoldman was telling me that @taylorswift got ready for her tour by doing her entire set on the treadmill every day,” Goldman wrote on Instagram Monday alongside a video of himself playing the guitar while walking on the exercise equipment.
“I’m basically @taylorswift,” he added atop the clip, which had Bryan Adams’ 1984 single “Run to You” playing in the background.
On Tuesday, he again took to social media to update fans on his progress.
“Nothing is more badass than playing your own theme music while you’re actually exercising,” Goldman captioned another clip of himself on the treadmill. “I’m a walking montage. See you at @bakingexpo Sept 13!”
The pastry chef further detailed his experience with the tough regimen in an interview with People.
“It’s difficult because you’re walking at a steady rhythm that has absolutely nothing to do with the time signature of the song, so it’s almost like there is a counter rhythm happening the entire song that never resolves,” the TV personality told the outlet.
“Also, playing bass while walking the entire time makes me really sweat,” he added.
“I think part of it is physical but also because I’m actively learning something and really engaging my brain I feel like I’m probably burning serious calories.”
Goldman confessed that hearing about the “Blank Space” singer’s workout regimen from his wife, Johnna, “lit a fire” under him.
“I think there’s no question that Taylor Swift is one of the hardest working badass musical talents to ever do it,” he said.
“Seeing her perform on her treadmill was truly inspiring. My wife showed me, and I thought to myself, ‘Why don’t I do that?’”
The Taylor Swift treadmill challenge exploded on social media after the singer divulged her grueling tour prep to Time magazine in December 2023.
The pop superstar, 35, revealed she ran on the treadmill daily while belting out the show’s three-hour setlist, explaining, “Fast for fast songs, and a jog or a fast walk for slow songs.”
She also shared her motivation, telling the outlet, “I knew this tour was harder than anything I’d ever done before by a long shot.
“I finally, for the very first time, physically prepared correctly.”
