Bella Hadid joins Zendaya and more A-listers in skipping Jeff Bezos-backed Met Gala 2026

Bella Hadid made it clear she won’t be attending the Met Gala 2026.

The model, who has attended the annual event five times over the years, “liked” a Friday Instagram post captioned, “I love the ICE out pins but you can’t wear them to the @jeffbezos backed Met Gala!”

Jeff Bezos and wife Lauren Sánchez, notably, are the lead sponsors and honorary co-chairs of the annual event, which has a “Costume Art” theme this year.

In the social media upload Hadid liked, influencer Meredith Lynch said she will be “dragging [stars] in perpetuity” for wearing pins to the red carpet because “Jeff Bezos is part of the reason we’re in this f–king mess.”

She added, “Jeff Bezos supports this f–king mess. … I know the funds from the Met Gala go to a good cause, but it is wild to me that this event is sponsored by Jeff Bezos who has backed [President] Trump, who has slashed arts funding.”

Lynch concluded by advising publicists to keep their clients away from the gala.

Hadid’s rep did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

The 29-year-old’s headline-making “like” comes on the heels of Elle reporting Zendaya will not be at the event.

The actress, also 29, has attended seven times, even serving as a co-chair in 2024.

The outlet reported the Golden Globe winner needed “a break from the spotlight” after her press tours for “The Drama” and Season 3 of “Euphoria.”

Zendaya’s rep has yet to respond to Page Six’s request for comment.

Meryl Streep also sparked chatter earlier this month for declining an offer to be a Met Gala co-chair as she promotes “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” in which she plays a fictionalized Anna Wintour.

Wintour, 76, is one of this year’s co-chairs, alongside Bezos, Sánchez, Beyoncé, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams.

Streep’s rep pointed out to Page Six over the weekend that the Oscar winner, also 76, “has been invited to the Met Gala for many years but has never attended.”

The spokesperson added, “While she appreciates Vogue and Anna and her incredible imagination and stamina, it has never quite been her scene.”

Her absence reportedly has nothing to do with Bezos, 62, and Sánchez, 56, who we heard paid $10 million to sponsor Monday night’s event.

The billionaire first sponsored the gala in 2012 via Amazon.

Activists, unhappy with Bezos’ role this year, projected a call to “boycott the Bezos Met Gala” onto a building viewable from his penthouse.
