Celebrity Deaths of 2026: ‘227’ Actor Hal Williams and More Stars We’ve Lost

Hollywood mourned the deaths of some of its most legendary stars in 2026.

The year started off with Broadway performer and influencer Bret Hanna-Shuford’s death at age 46. At the end of the month, comedy acting icon Catherine O’Hara died at age 71.

In February, Dawson’s Creek actor James Van Der Beek died at age 48 and actor Eric Dane died at age 53. Former NASCAR driver Chase Pistone and actor Chuck Norris died in March.

In April, Days of Our Lives actor Patrick Muldoon died following a heart attack and singer Alan Osmond died at age 76. The following month, news broke that CNN founder Ted Turner had died at 87. NASCAR icon Kyle Busch also died on May 21 at the age of 41.

In June, legendary music executive Clive Davis also died at age 94 following a hospitalization for an upper respiratory infection. At the end of the month, news broke that the Village People lead singer Victor Willis had died. Actor Joby Baker died at age 92 later that month.

The following month, G.R.L. member Lauren Bennett died at age 37, while Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman star Louise Lasser died at 87 and Bonnie Tyler died at 75. Emergency!‘s Randolph Mantooth and Police Academy‘s Peter Van Norden also died in July. They were 80 and 75, respectively. Later in July, South African soccer star Jayden Adams was found dead at age 25 mere weeks after competing at the World Cup. South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham’s staff confirmed the Republican politician’s death at age 71 on July 11, and Broadway actor Josh Grisetti also reportedly died at the age of 44. Jurassic Park star Sam Neill‘s family confirmed on July 13 that he died at age 78.

227 and Sanford and Son actor Hal Williams’ death at age 91 was announced on July 15.
