Collin Gosselin claims estranged mom Kate would ‘pray to God to stop hitting’ him when he was 2 years old
Collin Gosselin alleged his estranged mom, Kate Gosselin, would “pray” to stop herself from hitting him when he was a toddler.
The 22-year-old took to his Instagram Stories Tuesday to call out the matriarch ahead of the release of his highly anticipated memoir, “In the Shadow of Eight.”
“Never forget the fact that my mom would write in her diary how she ‘had to pray to God to stop hitting me’ (this was while I was 2 years old by the way),” he claimed.
“And this is why using my voice to put these things in the light is so important,” Collin added, referring to the secrets he is preparing to spill in his book, which will be released on Oct. 13.
A rep for Kate wasn’t immediately available to Page Six for comment.
Earlier this month, Collin announced that he would be launching his memoir and warned it wasn’t “the story people think they know.”
“Writing this book forced me to revisit some of the hardest moments of my life, but it also gave me something I’ve been searching for for a long time: my voice,” he wrote in a statement. “It’s the story I’ve lived.”
Collin also sent a pointed message to Kate when he reshared The Post’s social media story about how the latter felt about the release of the book.
“Kate Gosselin ‘spiraling’ ahead of estranged son Collin’s bombshell memoir: ‘She knows it’s about to hit the fan,’” the story headline read.
The post also featured a photo of Kate, which Collin blurred out, as he added the caption, “What’s done in darkness will always come to light.”
An insider told the Daily Mail that Kate and Collin haven’t talked since he was institutionalized as a child, saying, “She didn’t expect any of this to ever come out. Now she’s spiraling because she knows it’s about to hit the fan.”
The TLC alum has allegedly been telling people that her son’s allegations, including how she allegedly tied him up in a basement, are baseless on “zero facts.” She’s also previously denied the claims against her.
Additionally, Kate claimed via TikTok Monday that she can’t sue Collin for defamation because she is a “public figure” and the “rules are different unfortunately.”
“Or I def would!” she wrote in the comments of one video. “I consulted a high power LA attorney (you’ve definitely heard of him) years ago when other ppl were putting crazy stuff out there and that’s what he said.”
Kate and her ex-husband, Jon Gosselin, rose to fame on the “TLC” show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” alongside their sextuplets — Collin, Hannah Aaden, Joel, Alexis and Leah — and twins, Madelyn and Cara.
The exes were married from 1999 to 2009, and Jon, 49, was granted sole custody of Collin in 2018.
